Fill In The Spaces
00:49
|

I want to fill in the spaces
between me and other places
I want to fill in the spaces between
I want to fill in the spaces
between me and other places
I want to fill in the space between you and me
I want to go the distance
against your resistance
I want to go the distance to find
I want to go the distance
against your resistance
I want to go the distance for peace of mind

Taxicab Pretty
04:06

I don't mind
falling in line
I'm held up just like
the power line
so I go for a drive
til a quarter to 5
and the heads they're long gone
but the bodies survive
hey girl, roll by like your taxicab pretty
well I got so many ways
to get around in this city
summertime nights
are covered in light
and they wrap themselves round
to the morning sky
and you you're alright
yeah some say real nice
all cut to fit like
pieces of pie
but hey girl, you're only taxicab pretty
and I got so many ways
to get out of this city
I'm just fine
colouring lines
but you're already painted
all over the sides
hey girl, dropping by like you're taxicab pretty
well there's so many ways
to get out of this city
work it

Snowy
03:42
|

do clouds get jealous
of our relationship with stars
they want so bad to tell us
but they don't have body parts
so they make homes in every tree
we sit to watch the winter take
turn the oven on to minus three
and cover us in tiny cakes
my girl she disappears
like a bear gone down below
I'm out in the street breaking dishes
and no one hears em in the snow
she'll sleep for years
knowing that the land will let her go
and I rolled up as the clouds rolled in
a funeral parade
but in the end, they buried us instead
now we're singing in the wake
cover me in what I need
wash my memories away
sometimes it seems I live like I'm asleep
and here I've woken to a dream
I felt as clean as the snow made the ground seem
It made an angel out of me
still, serene, like the clues at a crime scene
the snow was mightier than me
the snow was prettier than she

Cannon Beach
04:25

I know a man who's made out of sand
and he's got an ocean view
he wakes with the sunrise and opens his sand eyes
to gaze at the sea turning blue
but he can't go swimming
because then he will break in two
and there are somethings that nobody can do
even though they so badly want to
I know a girl who's made out of pearls
and the world it just swims in her hands
so polished and set that you wouldn't expect
that she used to be a grain of sand
and she won't admit it
although she knows it to be true
and there are somethings that nobody will do
even though they so badly need to
I'll show you someone who's just like you
you might see me on the shore
I might be on the shore I might be on a boat on the ocean floor
I know there's someone who's just like you
and I know there's someone you owe it to

Setting Hill
04:43
|
|||
took a trip through the grass
spent the day away from the sun
lying around in the backyards of the bay
with my head falling upside down
so come along to the hill of the rising sun
and all will be gone
but for you we'll carry on
and time will tell
like the moon on the setting hill
through the trees
telling stories of you and me
hey friend
do you have enough air to breathe?
there's shelter in my coat
from the storm
spent the day in a falling haze
blurred out like pixels in a picture frame
so come along to the hill of the rising sun
and all will be gone but for you
time will tell
like the moon on the setting hill
through the trees
telling stories of you and me
